OKORO Media Systems
Chicago, Illinois
From an interview with Isidore Okoro, president of Okoro Media Systems
"In the fall of 2004, I started a company called OKORO Media Systems (OMS). I came up with the idea when I wanted to purchase a Media
Center PC but I didn't want a big boxy PC that stood out in the living room. I needed something that would be
acceptable to my wife, something nice and quiet, and there were not a lot of choices.
The systems that were available were very expensive and had very few of the options that I wanted. What I really wanted was a simple turnkey
solution. And that is why I started OKORO Media Systems.
Initially I was looking at selling only Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition solutions, but then we were introduced to Meedio Essentials.
By offering Meedio to consumers, we feel that we will be able to tap into the market of HTPC enthusiasts.
HTPC enthusiasts are only interested in the best software
and hardware for their home theater needs and
they consider Meedio to be one of the most
powerful HTPC front-ends available. Meedio gives OMS a competitive advantage
by offering consumers a powerful software choice.
Our vision is to offer HTPCs with the best software and hardware available to
make sure that our customers have an enjoyable home theater experience. It was an easy decision for us to offer Meedio Essentials on
our systems."
"After joining the Meedio reseller program we were very pleased with how easy it was
to create a fully customized front-end for our OMS line of HTPCs.
With the available plugins and forums support, we were able to create a friendly interface
to access the many multimedia software packages on our units. After we made Meedio available on our HTPCs we received feedback commending our choice
of software. When OKORO Media Systems
went live, our first HTPC purchase was for an OMS-TH550i with Meedio Essentials preinstalled instead
of MCE 2005. That says it all right there."
